Humberside Scaffolding Ltd – Terms and Conditions of Business

  1. Introduction These Terms and Conditions set out the agreement between Humberside Scaffolding Ltd (“the Company”) and the Client (“the Customer”) regarding the supply, erection, use and dismantling of scaffolding structures. By accepting our services, you agree to these terms.
  2. Payment Terms
  • We will invoice for full payment on completion of the scaffolding structure.
  • Payment is due within 30 days of the invoice date.
  • Late payments may be subject to interest charges at the statutory rate.
  • Additional costs incurred due to delays or requested modifications may be chargeable.
  1. Ownership and Equipment
  • All scaffolding, materials and equipment remain the property of Humberside Scaffolding Ltd at all times.
  • The Customer shall not modify, remove or allow third parties to interfere with the scaffold without prior written consent from the Company.
  1. Access for Dismantling
  • Humberside Scaffolding Ltd requires access to the site for dismantling and removal of equipment.
  • By agreeing to these terms, the Customer undertakes not to obstruct access and to provide reasonable notice if access arrangements need to be made.
  1. Site Safety and Responsibilities
  • The Customer must ensure the site is prepared and safe for scaffold erection and dismantling.
  • The Customer is responsible for securing any necessary permits or permissions for the scaffold installation.
  • The scaffold must only be used for the purpose specified at the time of hire.
  • The Customer is responsible for the safety of the scaffold while in use and should take reasonable precautions to prevent unauthorised access.
  1. Liability and Insurance
  • Humberside Scaffolding Ltd carries public liability insurance but the Customer is responsible for ensuring appropriate site insurance is in place.
  • The Company is not liable for any loss, damage or delay caused by factors beyond our reasonable control, including weather conditions, third-party actions or force majeure events.
  1. Hire Duration
  • The standard hire period for scaffolding is four weeks from the date of erection.
  • If the scaffolding is required for a longer period, an additional weekly charge of 5% of the total job cost may apply.
  • Any extension to the hire period must be agreed upon in advance between the Customer and Humberside Scaffolding Ltd.
  1. Variations and Additional Charges
  • Any alterations or additions to the agreed scaffold structure may result in additional charges.
  • Delays caused by the Customer, including restricted access or site readiness issues, may be chargeable at an agreed rate.
  1. Health and Safety Compliance
  • All scaffolding will be erected and maintained in compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
  • The Customer must not interfere with or alter any part of the scaffold, as this may compromise safety and breach regulations.
  1. Termination of Agreement
  • Humberside Scaffolding Ltd reserves the right to remove scaffolding early if terms are breached, particularly regarding non-payment or unsafe use.
  • The Customer may cancel the contract before erection begins, but cancellation fees may apply depending on costs incurred.
  1. Governing Law
  • These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
  • Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
